Apart from the cool design, the best part of the site is the tiny little characters walking around the site – sitting, dancing, etc.

For those of you that don’t know, every employee at VJ is has a custom designed avatar created for use in their emails, business cards, presentations, etc. My little character is off the side here – A man in a gorilla suit working at a laptop.

The plan for the site is to eventually have everyone’s avatar appearing on the site randomly. You can identify each avatar by rolling your mouse over them – their name will appear above.

As an added bit of fun, you can throw characters into the air and see how far they travelled. For the record my best is about 2000m, but I have heard rumours of people breaking the 3000m mark.

It was rebuilt entirely around the new graphic style that the company was taking.

The bright pinks and flash based animations of the previous sites has been abandoned in favour of a more traditional HTML approach, using more earthy greys and browns of the company’s new style.

Where ever possible, text was minimised in favour of large product images in an effort to showcase the colours and quality of the JuicyBear range

Built using a combination of HTML, CSS and JavaScript the site was set up to be as compatible with as many browsers as possible.

It was also laid out in such a way that it would still work even if the user did not have JavaScript enabled.

The style of the site was based on some existing brochures and contains information relating to who the company is, what they do and what they have done in the past.

Images of the company’s work is scattered throughout the entire site to help show off some of their work.

Running off of PHP and MySQL, the site allows users to:

• browse through various categories
• search via keywords
• explore costing for various branding techniques
• create their own list of products (shopping cart)

The main purpose of the site was to make it as easy as possible for potential clients to find the products they were after.

The products were divided into three main categories – promotional products, clothing and indent (custom made). Each category can be displayed by either category/subcategory or by a price range.

The ability to search any or all of the sections based on keywords was also added to make finding products easier.


A pricing matrix allows potential customers to calculate prices based on quantities and branding methods, allowing them to compare saving based on different combinations.

‘My Catalogue’ allows users to create a list of items that can then be used to request a quote from the staff at Memento Gifts.

Other sections of the site offer customers helpful information on things such as branding types, file formats, image resolutions, etc.
